Transitioning Military out of the service
An estimated 200,000-plus service members transition out of the military each year. Each Transition from military to civilian life is unique, and USO San Diego is there to help service members and military spouses through the process. Whether an individual needs help finding a civilian job that suits their skills and interest, securing financial stability, researching education options or any other veteran programs, maintaining family strength and personal wellness through the process, or more – participants will get a personalized Action Plan and one-on-one support from a USO team member.
USO has a Transitions Program here in San Diego County that extends the USO experience to active duty, Reserve, National Guard and military spouses by offering professional development services throughout the duration of the service member or military spouse’s career, as well as when Active Duty transition out of the military and settle into their new communities.
How does this program work? USO Transitions Program works with strategic partners to connect service members and military spouses to resources through a holistic approach, focusing on: Employment, Education, Financial readiness, Mentorship, and Increased access to relevant veterans’ benefits in their communities while engaging them to keep them on the track through individualized action plans leading to a successful transition.
