The San Diego Latino Health Coalition On the frontlines
The San Diego Latino Health Coalition was formed in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 health crisis and its disproportionate impact on communities of color. The members of the San Diego Latino Health Coalition are community-based organizations with deep ties to the Latino community. The goal of the Coalition is to interrupt the community spread of COVID-19 by leveraging trusted messengers and design and support targeted efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in susceptible populations. As the Latino community continues to experience higher rates of COVID-19 infection and death, and as COVID-19 vaccinations among Latinos continues to lag behind other groups, the Coalition is helping to reach the most impacted residents of San Diego.
