An unforgettable night of fantasy and fun at The New Children’s Museum
The New Children’s Museum will host their annual gala on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at their facilities located at 200 W. Island Avenue in downtown San Diego. This year’s theme, The Magical Treehouse, is inspired by the classic children’s book series of the same name and explores the imaginative power of art and literacy.
Known for fundraising events that are both playful and memorable, NCM’s annual gala supports its many access and impact programs, including its free or reduced admission program which benefits more than 30% of Museum visitors.
The event will be Chaired by longtime NCM supporter and Board member Wendi McKenna. “The importance of The New Children’s Museum in meeting the developmental, creative and community resource needs of San Diego children and families is critical,” McKenna shared with GB Magazine.
The Magical Treehouse promises an unforgettable night of fantasy and fun, with live performances, decadent food, and a silent and live auction that includes one-of-a-kind items like an on the field Padres experience, an African Safari eco experience, and the opportunity to have “Wonder Sound” artist Wes Bruce design your own magical treehouse at the location of your choice.
Gala attendees are invited to dress up as their favorite historical, literary or storybook character as they enjoy unlimited access to galleries and installations and immerse themselves in a magical storybook journey, including visits with a Luck Dragon, a Giving Tree, and a Sidewalk that NEVER Ends.

El Nuevo Museo de los Niños llevará adelante su gala anual el Sábado 14 de Octubre del 2023 en sus instalaciones de 200 W. Island Avenue ubicadas en el centro de San Diego. La temática de este año es la Mágica casita del árbol, inspirada en la clásica serie de libros infantiles del mismo nombre que explora el poder de la imaginación relacionado con el arte y la escritura.
Conocidos por lo divertido e inolvidables de sus eventos, la gala de NCM busca recaudar fondos para solventar muchos de sus importantes programas, como los que brindan acceso a costos reducidos o gratuitos a más del 30% de los visitantes al museo.
El evento cuenta con Wendy McKenna como anfitriona, antigua colaboradora de la institución y miembro de la comisión directiva, quien le comenta a la revista GB “la importancia del Nuevo Museo de los NIños radica en brindar esenciales recursos de desarrollo y creatividad a los niños de San Diego y sus familias”.
La mágica casita del árbol promete ser una noche para el recuerdo, con fantasía y diversión, presentaciones en vivo, excelente comida, subastas en vivo y silenciosas que incluyen objetos únicos, como la experiencia de campo de los Padres, un safari africano ecológico y la oportunidad de que Wes Bruce “Wonder Sound”, el artista, diseñe su mágica casita del árbol en donde usted quiera.
