Jewish Family Service hosted their signature luncheon with special guests Dwight “Doc” Gooden and Darryl Strawberry, two of Major League Baseball’s most legendary players. Both athletes had an illustrious baseball career that were also marked by highly public battles with addiction. Turning those challenges into inspiration, they now help others struggling with addiction while spreading a message of hope, recovery and healing. While many of our neighbors are struggling with behavioral health issues that have only been magnified by the pandemic, Jewish Family Service remains committed to serving our community every step of the way, from Response to Recovery.
Jewish Family Services llevó a cabo su icónico almuerzo con Dwight “Doc” Gooden y Darryl Strawberry como invitados especiales, dos de las leyendas de la Mayor League Baseball. Ambos deportistas cuentan con una ilustre carrera en el béisbol y también padecieron muy públicas luchas contra las adicciones. Transformando sus luchas en inspiradoras historias, hoy en día ayudan a otros que padecen el flagelo de las adicciones y a la vez, envían un mensaje de esperanza, capacidad de recuperación y sanación. Con muchos de nuestros vecinos luchando contra problemas de salud emocional y de conductas que, lamentablemente la pandemia ha potenciado, la Jewish Family Services optó por mantenerse completamente comprometida con el servicio a la comunidad a través de su Response to Recovery.
