Sycuan Gift Giving Celebration
Sycuan Casino Resort continues to be a leader in our community for its unwavering and steadfast support to the non-profit organizations that make our region a better place. Sycuan recently donated more than $70,000 to 21 different charities during its 2020 Holiday Gift Giving Celebration.
Each year, members of the Sycuan Tribal Council and leadership team each individually select a charity to support on behalf of Sycuan. In previous years, a breakfast event has been held at Sycuan to commemorate the special occasion, but to ensure everyone’s safety and to maintain physical distancing, this year donations were either hand-delivered by members of the Sycuan team or mailed to each of the charities. Sycuan’s General Manager, Rob Cinelli hand-delivered a donation to his charity of choice, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.
“Although we are celebrating our Holiday Gift Giving a bit differently this year, right now is especially important for us to continue to give back to our local community,” Rob Cinelli, general manager at Sycuan Casino Resort shared with GB Magazine. “I picked Big Brothers Big Sisters as my charity of choice, because I have been a huge supporter of their mission for many years. The development of our youth is extremely important and the services that BBBS provides is invaluable to their future.”
“We are honored to partner with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation in a shared commitment to our community’s youth, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. This investment in Big Brothers Big Sisters mission will help provide evidence-based, one-to-one mentoring to youth across San Diego County,” said Tina Rose, CEO and president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.
The funds from this year’s Gift Giving Celebration went to: Alzheimer’s Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters San Diego County, Center for Community Solutions San Diego – Bridging Hearts, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Children’s Health Defense, Choice Harvest Worship Center, Computers2Kids San Diego, Dallas Pugh Foundation, ElderHelp of San Diego, JDRF San Diego Chapter, Lucky Duck Foundation, Outdoor Outreach, San Diego Equality Business Association, San Diego Pride, San Diego Rock Church – East County Campus, Second Chance, Sharp HospiceCare, Skinny Gene Project, Special Delivery San Diego, Serving Seniors San Diego and Westsiders Urban Outreach.
To further assist the San Diego community recover from the effects of Covid, they also presented a $150,000 donation to Big Table San Diego, a local non-profit organization that helps hospitality and restaurant workers.
Sycuan’s donations will go a long way in helping our region recover.

Sycuan Casino Resort continúa siendo líder de nuestra comunidad gracias al continuo y sólido apoyo que brinda a las organizaciones sin fines de lucro de nuestra región que trabajan por hacer de ella un mejor lugar. Recientemente, Sycuan distribuyó más de $ 71,000 entre 21 diferentes organizaciones de caridad durante su 2020 Holiday Gift Giving Celebration.
Cada año, los miembros del Concejo Tribal de Sycuan junto con el equipo de directivos, eligen personalmente una institución de caridad a la que asistir en nombre de Sycuan. En años anteriores, un desayuno especial se celebraba para festejar esta especial ocasión, pero este año, para mayor seguridad de todos y mantener el distanciamiento social, las donaciones serán entregadas en mano por los miembros de Sycuan o enviadas por correo a cada institución. El Gerente General de Sycuan, Rob Cinelli entregó personalmente la donación a la institución de su elección, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.
“Aunque este año estamos celebrando nuestro Holiday Gift Giving de manera un poco diferente, es muy importante poder continuar colaborando con nuestra comunidad” le comparte a la revista GB Rob Cinelli, gerente general del Sycuan Casino Resort. “Elegí Big Brothers Big Sisters porque desde hace años que soy un gran admirador y vengo colaborando con su misión. El desarrollo de nuestra juventud es extremadamente importante y los servicios que BBBS ofrece son invalorables para el futuro de ellos.”
