Drew Moser’s Mission to End Homelessness in San Diego
Drew Moser wears many hats – CEO of the Lucky Duck Foundation, dedicated family man, sports enthusiast, and community advocate. His involvement with the Lucky Duck Foundation began with a deep admiration for its board members, whom he describes as the embodiment of teamwork and dedication.
Drew’s journey with the Lucky Duck Foundation began with a simple yet profound realization revolving around the power of teamwork. Inspired by the dedication of the foundation’s board members, including the late Peter Seidler, Dan Shea, and co-founders Pat and Stephanie Kilkenny, Drew saw an opportunity to make a real impact. “Teamwork was instilled in me at a young age, and I saw it as the ultimate teamwork situation of working with a multitude of entities to address San Diego’s most pressing issue while working with and for the most generous, caring, and humble people in Lucky Duck Foundation’s board of directors,” Drew shared.
Under Drew’s leadership, the Lucky Duck Foundation has implemented several successful initiatives and programs to address homelessness. From funding immediate shelter beds to supporting residential detox programs, the foundation is focused on providing tangible solutions for those in need. Drew’s approach is simple yet effective – apply sound business principles, collaboration, and a bias for action to fund and implement strategies that are humane, timely, and cost-effective.
Looking ahead, the Lucky Duck Foundation has exciting events lined up, including the Spring Swing Golf Tournament on April 29th at the Rancho Sante Fe Club and the Showcase Soiree on September 12th at the Sound in Del Mar. These events not only raise funds but also provide opportunities for the community to come together and support the cause. “The support we receive from the community is overwhelming. It is a testament to the generosity and compassion of the people of San Diego,” Drew noted.
When asked about the challenges facing San Diego, Drew pointed to the lack of adequate shelter and residential detox beds. He stressed the importance of providing immediate solutions while also working towards long-term housing goals. He added, “We are focused on the here and now and providing an immediate pathway off the streets coupled with appropriate supportive services to help people put homelessness behind them once and for all.”
Outside of his work with the foundation, Drew enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and cheering them on from the sidelines. His passion for making a difference in the community is evident in everything he does, both professionally and personally. Drew Moser is not your typical CEO. He is a leader, a mentor, and a beacon of hope for those in need.
