Businesses and non-profits around San Diego are undertaking countless acts of generosity and compassion to assist those affected by COVID-19. Others are adjusting to meeting and working remotely!
MISSION FED
Mission Fed gives back to the communities where their members live and work, and they participate in local events because that spirit is essential to who they are and what they do. This month, they dropped off food for the Chula Vista Police Department to support of our first responders.
SOUTHBAY COMMUNITY SERVICES
With the help of their partner organizations Feeding San Diego and San Diego Food Bank, South Bay Community Services has increased their distributions of healthy food to families in need by three times over in the last month.
CONSULATE GENERAL OF MEXICO SAN DIEGO
The Mexican Consulate helped 131 cruise ship passengers from Celebrity Cruise Eclipse to return home to Mexico through the Cross Border Xpress, the airport pedestrian bridge after their scheduled disembarkation in Chile was blocked and they arrived in San Diego.
IMMUNOTHERAPY FOUNDATION
Recognizing that cancer patients, nurses and physicians need support now more than ever, Immunotherapy Foundation is working with UC San Diego Health to honor our cancer heroes at UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center and provide emergency relief to the frontline partners in care.
SAN DIEGO AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM
Jim Kidrick, CEO of the San Diego Air and Space museum interviewed key players from the famous Apollo 13 Mission during a Facebook Live event including Astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, Mission Lead Flight Director Milt Windler and Flight Directors Gene Kranz, Gerry Griffin and Glynn Lunney.
