Turning Her Passion for Philanthropy into a Career

Raised in the nonprofit world, Jennifer Kornreich has been heavily involved in a variety of fundraising activities since she was a young girl, thanks to her parents, philanthropists Betty and Dr. Leonard Kornreich. “My earliest memories were of attending charity events and volunteering with my mother,” Jennifer proudly shared with GB Magazine.

Fast-forward to 2007 when Jennifer started working as a customer service representative for tech behemoth, Apple for nearly three years. However, after finding herself unfulfilled in corporate and strictly profit-driven environments, she decided to make the leap and go back to her roots. “Although I was successful, I continuously had a feeling of wanting to do more, help more people, host more events, and also impact more areas of my city that need improvement,” she added. “Nonprofit work feeds my soul, and I could not imagine doing anything different than giving back to our world.”

Over the years, she has worked in development and fundraising for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and she has enjoyed seeing the impact of her work on the community and knowing that she can make a big difference as a single individual.

In 2017, she joined Options for All as the organization’s manager of development and marketing, where she was responsible for strategizing and planning fundraising events. After spending over five and a half years there, Jennifer turned her attention to a new venture. In September, she officially launched her own nonprofit consulting firm, using her expertise in project management and digital marketing to service her clients. Currently, Kornreich Consulting offers three main types of business offerings, which include social media and print marketing assistance, event and donor management, and grant research and writing services.

One of the aspects Jennifer enjoys most about her job is being able to make a difference with each project. “When we look at media and what is happening on the news and on our social media platforms, we are inundated with negative stories that reveal the worst of what the world has to offer,” she says. But with her work, Jennifer is able to counter all that negative information with relentless positivity. She is always willing to go above and beyond, and has built her reputation in philanthropy on providing the highest standard of integrity and advocacy for her clients.

When she is not running her business, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her parents and with her two wonderful rescue dogs – Hurley, a German Shepherd mix and Rosalie, a Terrier mix. On the weekends, you can find her taking her dogs on a hike at Cowles Mountain or on a walk at the dog beach in Fiesta Island or Del Mar. Another passion of Jennifer’s is to travel. She shares, “I have been to over 30 countries so far. I love learning about new cultures, new food, and unique traditions around the world.”
