The mission of the Salvation Army is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Salvation Army assists and serves ANYONE in need regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other factor. Lynne Doyle is the Co-Chair of the Salvation Army’s 2023 Women of Dedication Luncheon.
10 Things About Lynne Doyle & the Salvation Army
#1 I am a Native San Diegan and grew up in the Bay Park area. I have lived in San Diego so long that I remember cows grazing in Mission Valley.
#2 Italy is my favorite destination. My mother is Italian, and it just feels like home to me. We like to visit small, out of the way communities and understand the Italian way of life.
#3 I have traveled quite a bit, but I would really love to go to Fiji and New Zealand. Exploring our world is a fascinating opportunity and shows me how much we all deal with the same challenges and the same opportunities.
#4 I was a 90s mom that rollerbladed 5 miles a day around Lake Miramar. I enjoyed the exercise, seeing friends, and listening to my favorite music on my “Walkman”!
#5 My all-time favorite band is Earth, Wind and Fire. A few years ago, I brought one of my daughters to their concert. We had so much fun! My kids grew up listening to their music.
#6 We have a rescue dog named Jack, who is 14 years old, and a foster dog, named Tiki, who is 11. They both get along so well, it is incredible.
#7 To me, a servant leader leads by example with a goal of activating others to do the same.
#8 I was honored to be one of the Salvation Army’s “Woman of Dedication” in 2020-21 and am currently a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
#9 Sandra is one of many people who have benefitted from the love, hope and second chance at The Salvation Army’s Door of Hope. One year ago, Sandra was a pregnant mother of three, a victim of domestic violence and desperately in need of a safe place to stay. She found the Door of Hope, was given a room, and she slowly started putting her life back together. Sandra says The Salvation Army’s Door of Hope has been her family’s lifeline,
#10 The funds raised from the Women of Dedication fundraiser will go towards supporting local Salvation Army programs. Last year we were able to provide $110,000 to the program wish lists.
