Patrons of the Prado is an organization of dynamic and accomplished women who have made nurturing the arts and culture in San Diego a high priority in their lives. Patrons of the Prado is committed to raising funds to benefit ten arts and science institutions on the Prado in Balboa Park, our nation’s largest cultural urban park. #1 I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.

#2 My favorite travel destination is Italy where my father’s family is from.

#3 I took care of my Grandmother Lewis from my mother’s side, the last 10 years of her life and she passed away in my home at the tender age of 104.

#4 We have a dog named Molly. They say she is Beagle and Dachshund, but I think more like Heinz 57 variety.

#5 Most people don’t know that I love to cook.

#6 My sentimental item is my mother’s wedding ring.

#7 The Prado is Balboa Park’s central promenade, a crown jewel famous for its historical artisan-crafted facades, lush gardens, sparkling pools and flowing fountains. The area is alive with highly prized attractions, exhibitions and performances. The Prado is a world-class cultural and educational experience for the millions of locals and visitors from around the world who frequent Balboa Park each year.

#8 Patrons of the Prado has funded nearly $5 million and provided tens of thousands of all-volunteer hours to benefit the distinguished array of arts, science and cultural organizations that occupy the Prado in Balboa Park.

#9 Our founders had a unique vision to provide unrestricted funding which allows our beneficiaries the freedom to maximize the impact of these gifts by aligning funding with their strongest needs.

#10 This year, it is our great privilege to celebrate 25 years of impact, with our not-to-miss event of the summer – “Under the Desert Sun” offers a nod to the glamorous desert nightlife of 1960’s Palm Springs. The entirely outdoor event kicks off at sunset with cocktails, swanky mingling, a fabulous silent auction, and live entertainment. The evening will progress to a gourmet dinner, a Live Auction, and dancing under the stars. This signature event is more than a great party, it is an invaluable financial resource for our beneficiaries.
