The Arc of San Diego supports and empowers people with disabilities to achieve their life goals. As the largest and most comprehensive service provider for children and adults with disabilities in San Diego County, The Arc of San Diego takes great pride in the impact they make on the lives of over 2,000 individuals each year. Jennifer Bates Navarra serves as the Vice President of Marketing & Development at The Arc of San Diego.

#1 I grew up in both San Diego and Washington, DC. My childhood was split between these two cities, each offering unique experiences and opportunities that helped shape who I am today.

#2 Europe is my favorite travel destination. I am excited to be traveling to Italy this summer with my family to celebrate my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary in Capri.

#3 One destination that I have not been to yet but would love to visit is the Maldives. The idea of relaxing in an overwater bungalow and enjoying the beauty of the islands is a dream of mine.

#4 Whether it is taking a walk by the bay or watching my children play sports, being outdoors and being part of their joy allows me to disconnect from the stresses of daily life and recharge.

#5 One thing on my bucket list is to zip line across the Zambezi River Gorge, in Africa, for an unforgettable perspective of the majestic Victoria Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world.

#6 I have two dogs: Roxy, a 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier, and Bailey, a 35-pound 4-month-old shepherd mix puppy who I found outside our offices at The Arc of San Diego and decided to adopt after her owner could not be found.

#7 My favorite movie is “Goodfellas”.

#8 From a young age, I learned the importance of giving back to others and supporting our community. This value has stayed with me, shaping who I am today. I believe it is crucial to extend a helping hand to those facing challenges, as it not only improves their lives but also fosters a more supportive society for everyone.

#9 I first became involved with The Arc of San Diego approximately 20 years ago when I served as a board member. Transitioning from board service to a career within the organization has allowed me to directly impact the lives of those with disabilities.

#10 The funds raised from our gala will have a profound impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities at The Arc of San Diego. These funds will directly support our life-changing programs and services, enabling us to continue providing essential support to those we serve.
